Vistra Corp reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 95,005 Kt (-3,987 /-4% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity declined marginally to 8,197 t (-72 /-0.9% y-o-y).

Vistra Corp's Scope 3 emissions declined to 2,361 Kt (-25 /-1.1% y-o-y). The rate of decline has slowed vs. the previous periods (CAGR -71.1% since 4Q'20).

The company is committed to achieving net zero for Scope 1 + 2 by 2050, which translates into the estimated reduction of -3,393 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2050. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
