The companies of STOXX Europe 600 emitted the total of 1,402,677 Kt in GHG emissions (Scope 1 + 2) for the last reporting period of FY2021 (or 5,368 Kt if calculated as a weighted-average). The biggest emiiters were ArcelorMittal (MT.AS), RWE (RWE.DE), Holcim (HOLN.SW), HeidelbergCement AG (HEI.DE), Fortum (FORTUM.HE).

Most companies managed to reduce their annual emissions in absolute terms compared to the previous year (coloured green on the chart below), but some major emitters (e.g. Fortum (FORTUM.HE), Air France KLM (AF.PA), Ryanair (RYAAY)) did see an increase in their carbon footprint (coloured red on the chart).
