KPN reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 229 Kt (-61 /-21.1% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity tumbled to 37 t (-10 /-21.8% y-o-y).

KPN's Scope 3 emissions tumbled to 793 Kt (-92 /-10.4% y-o-y). The decline accelerated compared to the CAGR of -3.4% since 4Q'17.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 55% by 2030 from a base year 2010, which translates into the estimated reduction of -5.2 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2030. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
