Investec reported gross GHG emissions (Scope 1 + 2 before carbon offsets) for the twelve months ending 31 March 2021 at 24 Kt (-5.6 /-19.1% y-o-y).

Investec's Scope 3 emissions decreased to 1.9 Kt (-8.5 /-81.4% y-o-y).

The company has not set a company-wide target for an absolute reduction in GHG emissions yet.

Investec achieved carbon neutrality across its operations (Scope 1 + 2) in 2021. Companies normally become carbon neutral with the help of the acquisition of carbon offsets rather than absolute reductions in their own greenhouse emissions. Also, carbon neutrality does not include non-CO2 GHG emissions.
