Humana reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 122 Kt (+19/+18% y-o-y). Carbon intensity also increased to 1.3 t (+0.1/+8.3% y-o-y).

Humana's Scope 3 emissions took off to 2,479 Kt (+2,320/+1463% y-o-y). The growth accelerated relative to the long-term trend (+143% CAGR) observed since 4Q'19.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 54.6% by 2032 from a base year 2019, which translates into the estimated reduction of -7.1 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2032. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
