Ericsson's carbon footprint

Ericsson reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 84 Kt (-12 /-12.8% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity declined to 3.1 t (-0.4 /-11.4% y-o-y).

Ericsson's Scope 3 emissions plunged to 27,609 Kt (-7,028 /-20.3% y-o-y). This is a higher rate of decline than over the period since 4Q'20 (-9% CAGR).

The company is committed to reducing all Scopes by 50% by 2030 from a base year 2020, which translates into the estimated reduction of -1,167 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2030. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
