Air Liquide's carbon footprint

Air Liquide reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 39,306 Kt (+2,942/+8.1% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity tumbled to 1,244 t (-69 /-5.2% y-o-y).

Air Liquide's Scope 3 emissions declined marginally to 22,134 Kt (-113 /-0.5% y-o-y). The parameter has been fairly volatile.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 33% by 2035 from a base year 2020, which translates into the estimated reduction of -1,347 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2035. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
