Veolia reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 26,700 Kt (+1,700/+6.8% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity declined to 789 t (-32 /-3.9% y-o-y).

Veolia's Scope 3 emissions surged to 20,900 Kt (+10,100/+94% y-o-y). The performance has been erratic recently.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 22% by 2034 from a base year 2018, which translates into the estimated reduction of -278 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2034. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to <2°C above pre-industrial levels.
