TotalEnergies reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 40,000 Kt (+3,000/+8.1% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity decreased to 152 t (-49 /-24.2% y-o-y).

TotalEnergies's Scope 3 emissions plunged to 389,000 Kt (-11,000 /-2.7% y-o-y). There has been no consistent trend in recent years.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 40% by 2030 from a base year 2015, which translates into the estimated reduction of -1,550 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2030. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
