The Hershey Company reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2020 at 291 Kt (-46 /-13.8% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity plunged to 131 t (-27 /-17.1% y-o-y).

The Hershey Company's Scope 3 emissions plummeted to 5,762 Kt (-526 /-8.4% y-o-y). The decline accelerated compared to the CAGR of -4.4% since 4Q'18.

The company has not set a company-wide target for an absolute reduction in GHG emissions yet.

The Hershey Company also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. The Hershey Company commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from a 2018 base year.* The Hershey Company also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 25% over the same timeframe. *The target boundary includes biogenic emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks
