Tecan reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 1.3 Kt (-0.57 /-30.1% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity tumbled to 1.3 t (-1.1 /-45.8% y-o-y).

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 33% by 2022 from a base year 2019, which translates into the estimated reduction of -0.41 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2022. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Tecan also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. Overall Net Zero Target Tecan Group Ltd. commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2050. Near-Term Targets Tecan Group Ltd commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. Tecan Group Ltd also commits to increase active annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 34% in 2022 to 100% by 2025, and to continue active annual sourcing of 100% renewable electricity through 2030. Tecan Group Ltd finally commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2022 base year. Long-Term Targets Tecan Group Ltd. commits to reduce absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2022 base year.
