Starbucks reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 30 September 2021 at 847 Kt (+220/+35% y-o-y). Carbon intensity also surged to 29 t (+2.4/+9% y-o-y).

Starbucks's Scope 3 emissions surged to 13,859 Kt (+1,571/+13% y-o-y). The performance has been erratic recently.

The company is committed to reducing all Scopes by 50% by 2030 from a base year 2019, which translates into the estimated reduction of -826 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2030. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
