Siemens Healthineers reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 30 September 2021 at 145 Kt (+4/+2.8% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity decreased sharply to 6.8 t (-2.1 /-23.6% y-o-y).

Siemens Healthineers's Scope 3 emissions surged to 3,243 Kt (+322/+11% y-o-y). The performance has been erratic recently.

The company has not set a company-wide target for an absolute reduction in GHG emissions yet.

Siemens Healthineers also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. Siemens Healthineers commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by FY2030 from a FY2019 base year. Siemens Healthineers also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, upstream transportation and distribution, business travel and use of sold products 13.5% within the same timeframe.
