Sempra Energy's carbon footprint

Sempra Energy reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 7,200 Kt (+600/+9.1% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity decreased to 499 t (-15 /-2.9% y-o-y).

Sempra Energy's Scope 3 emissions increased marginally to 66,600 Kt (+400/+0.6% y-o-y). The growth has slowed compared to the trend since 4Q'16 (CAGR +3.4%).

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 50% by 2030 from a base year 2019, which translates into the estimated reduction of -556 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2030.
