GHG emissions and Carbon intensity
SalMar ASA reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 20 Kt (+2.2/+13% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity tumbled to 11 t (-1.2 /-9.5% y-o-y).
SalMar ASA's Scope 3 emissions grew to 677 Kt (
The company has not set a company-wide target for an absolute reduction in GHG emissions yet.
SalMar ASA also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. SalMar ASA commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2020 base year. SalMar ASA also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services, fuel and energy related activities, upstream transportation and distribution, waste generated in operations and business travel 42% by 2030 from a 2020 base year
