SCA's carbon footprint

SCA reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 280 Kt (-20 /-6.7% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity tumbled to 127 t (-17 /-11.6% y-o-y).

SCA's Scope 3 emissions plunged to 560 Kt (-10 /-1.8% y-o-y). The parameter has been fairly volatile.

The company is committed to reducing all Scopes by 50% by 2030 from a base year 2019, which translates into the estimated reduction of -41 Kt per annum over the period of FY2021 - FY2030. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
