Rightmove reported gross GHG emissions (Scope 1 + 2 before carbon offsets) for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 0.2 Kt (-0.13 /-40.2% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity plummeted to 0.5 t (-0.7 /-58.3% y-o-y).

Rightmove's Scope 3 emissions took off to 0.36 Kt (+0.18/+98% y-o-y). This is a higher growth rate than over the period since 4Q'19 (+26% CAGR).

The company has not set a company-wide target for an absolute reduction in GHG emissions yet.

Rightmove also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. Overall Net-Zero Target Rightmove plc commits to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by a 2040 relative to a 2020 base year. Near-Term Targets Rightmove plc commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 47.6% by 2030 from a 2020 base year. Rightmove plc also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 42% within the same timeframe. Long-Term Targets Rightmove plc commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2040 from a 2020 base year. Rightmove plc also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions 90% by 2040 from a 2020 base year.
