Rheinmetall's carbon footprint

Rheinmetall reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 451 Kt (+40/+10% y-o-y). Carbon intensity also surged to 67 t (+2.3/+3.5% y-o-y).

Rheinmetall's Scope 3 emissions plummeted to 6 Kt (-2 /-24.9% y-o-y). The decline accelerated compared to the CAGR of -14.4% since 4Q'18.

The company is committed to achieving net zero for Scope 1 + 2 by 2035, which translates into the estimated reduction of -32 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2035. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
