Rentokil Initial's carbon footprint

Rentokil Initial reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 200 Kt (+14/+7.4% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity decreased to 49 t (-1.9 /-3.7% y-o-y).

Rentokil Initial's Scope 3 emissions jumped to 48 Kt (+5/+12% y-o-y). The growth accelerated compared to the long-term upward trend (CAGR of +5.1% since 4Q'15).

The company is committed to achieving net zero for all Scopes by 2040, which translates into the estimated reduction of -13 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2040. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
