Oracle's carbon footprint

Oracle reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 273 Kt (-188 /-40.8% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity tumbled to 5.9 t (-5.2 /-46.8% y-o-y).

Oracle's Scope 3 emissions grew to 842 Kt (+262/+45% y-o-y). The performance has been erratic recently.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 26% by 2025 from a base year 2015, which it appears to have already achieved as of 2022. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
