Nike's carbon footprint

Nike reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 30 June 2022 at 76 Kt (-47 /-38.3% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity decreased to 1.6 t (-1.2 /-42.9% y-o-y).

Nike's Scope 3 emissions declined to 9,953 Kt (-874 /-8.1% y-o-y). The decline accelerated compared to the CAGR of -5% since 2Q'20.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 70% by 2025 from a base year 2020, which translates into the estimated reduction of -3.9 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2025. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
