Mercedes-Benz Group reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 663 Kt (-484 /-42.2% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity declined to 4.2 t (-3 /-41.7% y-o-y).

Mercedes-Benz Group's Scope 3 emissions was down at 97,164 Kt (-1,162 /-1.2% y-o-y). The rate of decline has slowed compared to the trend since 4Q'20 (CAGR -1.7%).

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 50% by 2030 from a base year 2018, which it appears to have already achieved as of 2022. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
