Kion Group's carbon footprint

Kion Group reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 201 Kt (+11/+5.6% y-o-y). At the sime time, carbon intensity was down at 16 t (-3.1 /-15.9% y-o-y).

Kion Group's Scope 3 emissions surged to 32 Kt (+2.6/+8.8% y-o-y). The performance has been erratic recently.

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 30% by 2027 from a base year 2017, which translates into the estimated reduction of -11 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2027. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
