ICA Gruppen AB reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 17 Kt (-3.2 /-15.6% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity decreased to 1.2 t (-0.2 /-14.3% y-o-y).

ICA Gruppen AB's Scope 3 emissions decreased to 61 Kt (-10 /-14.1% y-o-y). The decline accelerated compared to the CAGR of -11.5% since 4Q'15.

The company is committed to achieving net zero for Scope 1 + 2 by 2030, which translates into the estimated reduction of -1.9 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2030. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.

ICA Gruppen AB also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. ICA Group commits to reduce scopes 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions 70% per square meter by 2025 from a 2006 base-year. The target includes Scope 3 emissions from franchises, downstream transportation and business travel. ICA Group also commits that suppliers covering 70% scope 3 emissions will set science-based targets by 2025
