Givaudan reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 30 September 2021 at 171 Kt (-17 /-9.1% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity declined to 24 t (-5.9 /-19.9% y-o-y).
Givaudan's Scope 3 emissions took off to 2,140 Kt (
The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 70% by 2030 from a base year 2015, which translates into the estimated reduction of -13 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2030. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Also, the company commits to achieving net zero for all Scopes by 2050, which translates into the estimated reduction of -80 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2050. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Also, the company commits to reducing Scope 3 by 20% by 2030 from a base year 2015, which translates into the estimated reduction of -87 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2030. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
