GHG emissions and Carbon intensity
DuPont reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2020 at 5,148 Kt (-232 /-4.3% y-o-y). At the same time, carbon intensity increased to 359 t (+109/+44% y-o-y).
No public disclosure of Scope 3 emissions has been found for DuPont at the moment.
The company has not set a company-wide target for an absolute reduction in GHG emissions yet.
DuPont also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. DuPont de Nemours, Inc. commits to reduce absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 50% by 2030 from 2019 base year.* DuPont de Nemours, Inc. also commits to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and end of life treatment of sold products 25% by 2030 from 2020 base year.* *The target boundary includes biogenic land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.
