The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 95% by 2025 from a base year 2017, which translates into the estimated reduction of -29 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2025. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Also, the company commits to reducing all Scopes by 55% by 2030 from a base year 2020, which translates into the estimated reduction of -850 Kt per annum over the period of FY2022 - FY2030. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
Deutsche Telekom also has a science-based goal that, however, does not appear to explicitly target a company-wide reduction in emissions in absolute terms. German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom AG commits to reduce absolute Scope 1&2 GHG emissions 90% by 2030 from a 2017 base-year. Deutsche Telekom AG commits to increase annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 41% in 2017 to 100% by 2021. Deutsche Telekom AG commits to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions 25% per customer by 2030 from a 2017 base-year.
