Covestro's carbon footprint

Covestro reported Total CO2e Emissions - Location-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 4,810 Kt (-570 /-10.6% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity declined to 254 t (-31 /-11% y-o-y).

Covestro's Scope 3 emissions was down at 16,950 Kt (-4,890 /-22.4% y-o-y).

The company is committed to achieving net zero for Scope 1 + 2 by 2035, which translates into the estimated reduction of -370 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2035. This target, however, has not been recognised as science-based (and as aligned with Paris Agreement) by the SBTi.
