Cellnex reported gross GHG emissions (Scope 1 + 2 before carbon offsets) for the twelve months ending 31 December 2020 at 189 Kt (-6.9 /-3.5% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity fell to 101 t (-69 /-40.5% y-o-y).

Cellnex's Scope 3 emissions surged to 349 Kt (+234/+204% y-o-y). The growth accelerated relative to the long-term trend (+94% CAGR) observed since 4Q'16.

The company is committed to reducing all Scopes by 70% by 2030 from a base year 2020, which translates into the estimated reduction of -21 Kt per annum over the period of FY2021 - FY2030. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
