British American Tobacco reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2021 at 495 Kt (-46 /-8.5% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity decreased to 14 t (-2.2 /-13.6% y-o-y).

British American Tobacco's Scope 3 emissions plummeted to 5,587 Kt (-1,194 /-17.6% y-o-y). The decline accelerated compared to the CAGR of -7% since 4Q'18.

The company is committed to reducing all Scopes by 30% by 2030 from a base year 2017, which translates into the estimated reduction of -66 Kt per annum over the period of FY2021 - FY2030.
