Airbus reported Total CO2e Emissions - Market-Based Scope 1 + Scope 2 for the twelve months ending 31 December 2022 at 762 Kt (-47 /-5.8% y-o-y). Also positively, carbon intensity was down at 12 t (-0.8 /-6.1% y-o-y).

Airbus's Scope 3 emissions increased to 505,643 Kt (+29,106/+6.1% y-o-y). This is a higher growth rate than over the period since 4Q'20 (+4.6% CAGR).

The company is committed to reducing Scope 1 + 2 by 63% by 2030 from a base year 2015, which translates into the estimated reduction of -44 Kt per annum over the period of FY2023 - FY2030. This science-based target is aligned with Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
